The Force Awakens Awakens an Urge to Paint
I‘m kidding, I took this picture a couple weeks before the trailer dropped. Still, I think I’ll just loop it while I keep painting Ol’ Leia here. I planned to only share the finished model on the blog but it has been taking so long, mostly because Dota. Still, I keep working slowly making process.

I had a setback recently. I was painting the lower portion of the helmet and having a terrible time of it. It seemed like the paint wasn’t drying. I didn’t want to risk ruining the surface so I pulled as much of the paint as I could using water and a brush. Most of it came off. I had put a few drops of drying retarder in my wet palette sponge but it should have been much less than the amount which would prevent the paint from drying.
I was so frustrated by this that it took me more than a month to start painting again.
