Adding to the Batman Miniature Game Gallery
In my last post I was talking about how I was having trouble finding motivation to paint. One thing that I find always makes me want to return to the painting table is to look at a model I recently painted which makes me happy. Sometimes I’ll even bring a model to my computer or to the office so I can look at it and recharge my creative juices. Remembering this I thought a good way to do this while also updating my blog is to finally add the last two Batman Miniature Game figures I finished painting to my gallery. Cell phone pictures are fine for WIP shots but they just won’t do for a gallery so I set up all my gear and took some proper pictures.
This is the first miniature I painted for the Joker Crew. I’m really happy with how he came out, both the skintone and his undershirt. I also attempted some of my first freehand tattoos. I even researched some examples of prisoner tattoos and tried to re-create them. Strangely this guy has a neck tattoo but no scalp tattoo on his bald head.
This guy was a complete pain as there were some bad casting I had to deal with. I also wanted to paint the bat as aluminum but couldn’t get it to look right. I am happy with the hoodie. These two miniatures were some of the last miniatures I painted with my Golden High Flow Acrylics before I decided I didn’t want to struggle with the glossiness of the paints anymore. It’s too bad as I could tell how working with such a small selection of paints was helping me mix colours more confidently.
