Painting Chat on Google+

I started a little experiment where I post about painting on Google+ as I paint. The idea is to get some people chatting and keeping me company while I paint. So far the setup is not ideal. I am looking for more of a real-time chat experience and I also would like people to be able to share their in-progress images. Something like: hey, I just finished this part. Here’s the last post I did:

Anybody have advice on the best place to run this sort of thing?
