Terrain Suggestions

Postby coyote » Mon Feb 08, 2010 12:12 am

Looks like I'm heading a terrain-making committee.

My current plan is to use a hot-wire cutter to make some hills with foam insulation, paint them green and then flock them. Trees I will have to price the pre-made stuff, may do wire armatures and coarse groundscatter. Also will look into dyeing and airbrushing a cotton dropcloth.

Any suggestions are welcome. I think the biggest question is how high and big should the hills be? Flat rock sides painted brown or sloped? What angle slope? And so on and so forth.

We have the go ahead from Bill so we should start going.

We want things to work for 15s and 28s so I would say 1" styrofoam for your hills is about right. make sure asignle based 28 fits on it.

I would say hills first and then some terrain features. I would be surprised if you have much left for trees but if you do they would be next.
