I understand how you feel. I was involved with the beta for the upcoming Star Wars: The Old Republic and am now impatiently awaiting the game's launch. I have been trying to paint during the imterim so I can feel like I accomplished something!

I noted in your comments above that you have a copy of the history of the 1st Battalion, The Cameron Highlanders of Canada. I am looking for some details on the command and location of the battalion between 1 September 1939 and 1 July 1940. If you are interested in helping, please email me.

Regards,
 David

Sir,

The color of the Canadian BD is much greener than the brown British BD. It is a bronze green. I own WW2 orginals of each and can do side by side comparisons. The photo of your figs in the banner look very good as Canadian troops wearing wool BD. The figures starting this article look like you had painted them to wear the Khaki Drill clothing (known as KD) that the Canadian 1st Division wore in Sicily. They look good but that is the worng color for the wool BD. Be careful with the OSPREY books as they do get some of the colors wrong. Also, the entire 3rd Canadian Division was issued with the MkIII helmets for D-Day and wore them through to the end of the war. The trick of using panyhose works very well and I highly recommend that. All in all this was a nice read and your figures are superb.

I'd look at it this way: a unit being driven back is moving to a position where it can regroup and not get peppered with arrows. If you can't do that, everyone either runs away or gets arrows in their spleens. Hence, driving back into water = death, even at smaller scales. It's chaos, not drowning.

I concur on not enjoying playing games where I haven't read the rules.

Nice to see you finally get the BoFA stuff on the table. :)

Hey!

Thanks for recommending Fire Broadside! We had another session just yesterday actually so you should see a report of it on the blog within the next few days.

You've probably read the review as well, so you know my opinions of the game, but still; I think you should get it! Perhaps especially since you have an ongoing campaign with your group. It might sound weird but since Mouse Guard is such a low-prepp RPG and a typical session is fairly short it's very easy to bring out and run pretty much by the seat of your pants. It might also be fun for old(?) D&D veterans to try a completely different, more narrative driven game like Mouse Guard. Or, as you said, with your daughter.

In any case, even if you never actually play it I still think it's worth it simply because of the concepts presented in the book. It will make you a better roleplayer just from reading it I think.

Finally, how come I've never visited your blog before? Both Heavy Gear and Infinity? And excellently painted as well?! Count me in! It really reminds me that I need to finish my last couple of gears and the infantry for my Northern force. :)

I usually do not leave comments. However I found your weather Napoleonic infantry video useful and informative. I have a model railway website/blog (it is one of my other hobbies) and I know how much time and effort goes into producing a blog. However, I have had little encouragement. So let me encourage you and your efforts by telling you that I appreciate your work.

Hi Tyler, Great video, and very clear description of what you were doing. I liked the way you showed the different glaze consistencies on the rag, and also the way you contrasted the glaze from a wash. I'm definately going to give it a go. Thanks again
